is the course you want to do linked to adult education? If so ask the college about reduced fees - as the household is on a means tested income you should be eligible for a concessionary fee.
I worked in Ae for years and there is usually financial help if you ask .

Call the Open university or visit www.open.ac.uk, they do LOADS of part time courses.

I currently have a full time job and am doing a Hons Degree in Physical Sciences (Astronomy), I do it bit by bit course by course and the smaller courses that I do count towards the degree in the end.

They don't push you and you just do a course whenver you want to, they have long ones and short ones.

There may be a educational funding scheme for you too... maybe

Take a look

I took a course as a mature student a while back, I seem to think I spoke to the college bursar or some such person and they went through all the funding options with me. I got a college bursary but they should be able to tell you what is available. Good luck and enjoy your course!

I don't know how much fees have gone up since 1995 but it wasn't expensive to do a part time course at tech.
