why do u want to instill in him a sense of fear of death, a fear of not pleasing a non-existant being? why instill fear in people. let them live.

--You can reason with him by using the 2 books of life. BUT the convincing comes by the person himself. Jesus never forced truth on anybody , either they were rightly disposed or not.
--There are things that people let take over and they choose to eliminate God & Christ: such as --- Immoral sex, greed, love of money & Narcissism,selfishness, idolatry, prominence, power etc.
1. The Book of Life--the Bible!
---(2 Timothy 3:16-17) “16 All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.”
--The Bible is the greatest library in the world in which we can search for many subjects and references as to what is the truth about the important things in life!
2. The Book of creation--as we contemplate the amazing creation and the sciences behind it. Biology, Chemistry, Zoology, & all the true.... "ologys" that exist-- practiced and yet to be discovered, the non-fraudulent sciences! Note what Moses wrote concerning-- what we can learn from the things God has created and most important, of him
(Job 12:7-9) “ 7 However, ask, please, the domestic animals, and they will instruct you; Also the winged creatures of the heavens, and they will tell you. 8 Or show your concern to the earth, and it will instruct you; And the fishes of the sea will declare it to you. 9 Who among all these does not well know That the hand of Jehovah itself has done this,”

To convince your friend of the existence of God may not be so simple. If your friend so chooses not to believe, so be it. Perhaps a better use of your time would to live your life to the best of your ability, thereby setting a good example.

You can not... only God can do that... The Bible dose not prove God... God proves The Bible... all you can do is offer your testimony and your witness... and be there to answer any questions concerning the basics of The Faith when asked... do not push... if God's call is not being heard then pushing only puts more cotten in the ears making it harder for them to hear God's call.... the rest is up to God

First, creation is evidence of God.If a car and watch have a designer,it is logical to believe the universe does as well.Second,all people have an innate desire to worship or believe in someone or something.That is evidence of a soul.The spirit can't be text book proven,but ask any Christian and they will tell you about their spiritulal rebirth.Even atheists believe in god.They believe they are their own destinymakers.

You can't. And if you want to stay friends, you really shouldn't try. You can answer questions if they ask. But if you insist on pushing it, they will find someone who respects them a little more to hang with.
