You are allowed to bring liquids and gels on the aircraft with you in your carry on luggage, they just need to be 3 oz or less and packed in a clear 1 qts. zip lock bag. If you pack them in your checked luggage they are not restricted by size. I would suggest that you visit the TSA website http://www.tsa.gov/ they have the complete list of everything that is and is not allowed on the aircraft in both your carry on and checked luggage.

Hope this helps and have a great flight

Im traveling to Cozumel on March 11th and got this directly from my travel agent.

Effective Tuesday September 26, TSA is adjusting the ban on luquids, aerosols, and gels.

Travelers may now carry on travel-size toiletries (3 oz or less) that fit comfortably in ONE QUART SIZE clear plastic zip lock bag.

After clearing security, travelers can now bring beverages and other items purchased in the secure boarding area onboard aircraft.

At the checkpoint travelers will be asked to remove the zip lock bag of liquids and place it in a bin or on the conveyor belt. X-raying separately will allow TSA security officers to more easily examine the declared items.

In addition, larger amounts of prescription drugs, diabetic glucose treatments, and baby formula must be declared at the checkpoint for additional screening.

It is unlikely that additional changes in the liquid, aerosol and gel policy will be made in the near future.

The security regimen applies to all international and domestic flights departing from the US.

Hope this helps. Have a nice trip. If you have anymore questions go to http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/index.shtm

Make Your Trip Better Using 3-1-1
3 –1–1 for carry-ons = 3 ounce bottle or less; 1 quart-sized, clear, plastic, zip-top bag; 1 bag per passenger placed in screening bin. One-quart bag per person limits the total liquid volume each traveler can bring. 3 oz. container size is a security measure.

Consolidate bottles into one bag and X-ray separately to speed screening.

Be prepared. Each time TSA searches a carry-on it slows down the line. Practicing 3-1-1 will ensure a faster and easier checkpoint experience.

3-1-1 is for short trips. If in doubt, put your liquids in checked luggage.

Declare larger liquids. Prescription medications, baby formula and milk are allowed in quantities exceeding three ounces and are not required to be in the zip-top bag. Declare these items for inspection at the checkpoint.

Come early and be patient. Heavy travel volumes and the enhanced security process may mean longer lines at security checkpoints.

no more than 3.5 oz a liquid / gel per container. All Containers should be concealed in a clear zip lock bag allowed past the security check point.

You can put as much as you want in your checked baggage. If you want to carry any liquids on board the plane in your carry-on bag, though, they have to be in marked, 3-ounce containers, which fit into a 1-quart Ziploc bag. You can put as much into the Ziploc bag as you can fit but only one Ziploc bag. Yes, the rules are stupid.

Go to the TSA's website www.tsa.gov they will have more specifics.

you cant bring liquids with you in hand luggage if they are in the containers bigger than 100 ml. for example if you have half empty bottle of water (0,33 l) you have to throw it away.. also check with airlines you flying with, cos there can be some last minute changes about hand luggage.
