Boil it for wee while whole if you have big enough pan - drain it, let it cool and cut it then - it should cut nice and easy, then stick it back in pan and boil, then enjoy!!

I have some joint problems and chop any and everything in my food processor. It's a real life saver to me. I see the term Swede in a lot of recipes from the UK but wonder what it is called in the US. I'm thinking it must be like a sweet potato or turnip since it is obviously a root vegetable. I think I'll ask that question and see if someone know. Good luck with you joint pain. I hope a food processor will help you as much as it has me. God Bless

Get someone else to do it for you.
The suggestion of buying frozen is good but it doesn't taste quite the same.
Get a few people together and have a vegetable chopping night. Have a few beers and you will have your veg chopped in no time all be it strange shapes.

You can buy it ready diced, fresh or frozen. Smaller swedes are usually easier to cut, so you could try buying two or three small ones instead. My husband chops mine up for me! I f you havent got a handy man, see if youve got a friendly neighbour.

You need a small guillotine it's like a long knife with one one attached to the chopping board. A lot easier to use than just a knife
