My neighbor is hosting a gaming dinner tonight. For those of you who are not familiar with them, it is a dinner where everything served has been hunted. We are going to have veil, rabbit stew...stuff like that.

Well, my wife just called me in a semi-hysteria as she has not been able to find the dog all afternoon. Now, this is NOT out of the ordinary since our dog does take off for hours at a time, but usually comes right back (especially in bad weather).

What strikes me in a sick strange way is that my neighbor has been VOWING to get me back since our last party (I got VERY drunk and urinated in his wife's potted plant...I have since apologized and we've moved on)

He mentioned there will be a 'special' meal served tonight to all of our friends...

Would he DARE do what I'm thinking????

If he did, what kids of laws are there against him??

Well, at this point you have no proof that your neighbor has done anything wrong so the police may not want to do anything. I really hope your neighbor is not this twisted and vindictive. If he did kill and serve up your dog and you had some proof you would be able to prosecute because killing pets and taking pets from other people is illegal.

Maybe it would be a good idea to go over there now and ask him if he has seen your dog. Even if he did kill your dog, though, I would think he would not be likely to admit to it since I think most people realize that killing someone's pet will get them into legal hot water.

I do have to state the obvious here that being a responsible dog owner means not letting your dog roam the neighborhood. Not only would you not be worrying about your dog today but it is much safer for the dog (he can't get hit by a car or into poisonous material, etc.), protects you from liability in case your dog bothers other people or injures their animals, and in most areas there are laws against allowing your dogs to roam loose, anyway (you could be breaking the law, subject to fines, etc.).

I hope your dog shows up and is okay!

Get there -- NOW! If you crash the party and there IS a "special dish" it will be too late by then. If you love your dog and don't want anything bad to happen to him, stop what you're doing and go there now and confront the neighbor. If the dog shows up, you can always apologize. I'd also like to know the results of this

ps tell your neighbor that taking a beloved pet is not equal to peeing on a plant!

in the journey that your dogs does not take place, i might positioned slightly of any meat you weren't specific approximately in a ziplock and have it analyzed. If he did (which i wish he didnt) then he's in all hazard breaking some kind of property regulation, through fact the dogs is yours, in all hazard some animal rights stuff, and very nearly fairly a wellness code. will possibly no longer harm to easily outright ask him, in case you think of he's that style of guy.

If your neighbor has taken your dog, thats stealing because it is not his property. Maybe you should wait to see what happens before you think about any law enforcements and things like that, this could be just a co-oincidence as seen as your dog does disappear. But how would he get hold of your dog in the first place?

I really would like to hope that no one would have the audacity to do what your'e thinking and that no one would be cruel enough to do it either. Yes, there absolutely are laws against killing a neighbors dog and I would think that he could be locked in an asylum for mental patients if he then fed it to you. If he did indeed do it, he needs mental help.

Wow.. if he did that then he is literally psycho. Who in their right mind would kill a dog just to get it's owner back?

IF he did, though, call the police RIGHT AWAY, but MAKE SURE you have proof.

Oh boy. Please post the results of this dinner in the Add Details area. I would really like to know how this one comes out.

You can always call your local Humane Society if he does serve up your faithful freind tonight though... It is cruelty to animals...

Boy, that thought just turns my stomach.

If he is perverted, demented and sick, it is possible. But I really don't think that he would do that to a friend.

If he does, he will spend some time in jail and you get a lot of money.
