Well, I am not a big RCR fan let alone a Harvick fan, but I have to admit he has really hit his stide and matured. I think him getting his own sponser and losing the traditional paint scheme give him a feel thats its his car finally. He has always been a great driver, just his temper and attitude get in the way and I think is comfortable and calmer and will threaten for the Cup and yes every race.
Burton as well he is not looking bad himself, I have always liked him and wish he was with Rousch still, but I think he gets more help and not the last car on the team.
Both should be in the hunt and wouldn't put it past them to have one of them come out on top.

Harvick doesn't fair that well at California. His lifetime average there is only 21.1 with only 2 top 10s ever. His average over the last 3 years there is a little better, 16.8, but still not in the league of the Roush and Hendrick drivers. Another track very similar to California is Michigan so I checked his stats there as well. I must say Harvick is very consistent on these larger, flatter tracks as he has a 16.8 average finish at Michigan as well. A top 10 is not out of the question here but he will not be racing for the win. Look for Carl Edwards, Kyle Busch or Kasey Kahne to be challenging for the win. The "old timers" of Kenseth, Biffle, Gordon and Johnson could be in the mix at the end as well.

I'll bet that he does not finish the race. I don't hate Kevin Harvick but I think he will have Daytona 500 winner hangover! Jimmie Johnson will make a huge comeback as will Junior! Also this is for Native up top, I hate it that Mark Martin lost too, but you have to admit Harvick did it right, he did not wreck him or bump him or anything. He just got a good run and drove past him, thats they way it's suppose to be. And besides Harvick will never match the win total that Mark Martin has, take solace, have a beer, thank God racin' here!!

RCR only has 5 top tens in California over the last three years, which does look to hurt and the avg at Cali is being 21 doesn't look pretty either but his avg at 2 mile tracks is slightly better @ 16th. And with all the flack he has heard over the last week about Daytona being a fluke and cheap move I think he will be wanting to shut some critics up. That being said with all the room in and out of the corners at Cali I'd put 20 bucks that he gets between 7-14th.

History is against Harvick because I have contiously been told by Nascar announcers that the Daytona 500 winner has not fared well at the next race. I think that if he avoids early trouble and qualifies in the top 15 he should have a decent if not great chance at a top 8 or better

Not good. Harvick was lucky as hell in the Daytona. I would put my money on Stewart, Hamlin, Carl Edwards, Busch bros., or Kasey Kahne in Cali.
