I was wondering if police stations will ever offer a "pre-pay" bail list for minor misdemeanors. You simply determine the cost of bail for whatever minor misdemeanor you intend on committing, sign the appropriate papers, mug shots & fingerprints BEFORE you commit the act. This would save the grief of waiting in a jail cell, calling bail bondsmen etc. Once you get arrested for your misdemeanor - you simply flash the officer your "pre-paid" bail card & you go home right then and there. Who should I suggest this idea to? - The police commissioner or my state representative?

Oh yeah, this would be a great idea for all those career criminals out there. Just being facetious, give me a break, this has got to be the most stupid idea I have ever heard of.
How about saving your money and obeying the laws, wow what a concept.

Ah, my first laugh of the day...

How many people are going to pre-pay for a crime that they intend to commit sometime in the future? Give the police their fingerprints and mug shots?

Should they get their strip and cavity searches in advance too? LOL

Serious answer: bail varies depending on many factors, including a person's record, the type of offense, residence and ties to the community
Non-serious answer: Good idea, can use the Monopoly "get out of jail free" card as template

If you feel like this is a good idea, you are very strange. When someone is arrested for something ILLEGAL, they should not have any comfort or have an easy way to do things. The hassle is part of the punishment... Law enforcement and government officials will probably laugh in your face if you bring that up.... don't bother to ask.

If I were you I'd suggest this to no one and keep this idea to yourself. However if you pose this to your legislative representative it should be good for some real laughs on the floor of the statehouse.

It won't happen becasue your actually asking for "insurance" to commit a crime, but there are pre-paid legal services for people who are dumb @sses and know they will one day commit a crime.??? But many people use pre-paid legal services for protection , not for commiting a crime.

You are so funny.

Why the hell don't you just not break the law?

Besides, they would use the info to PREVENT the crime. And you'd still be charged.
