AVG is great, but you also need SpyWare and Adware. You need anti-virus and firewall.

Well they are two different types of program. One is an antivirus the other is antispyware. AVG is a decent antivirus program and it is free.
Spyware doctor is a horrible program. The free version will lie and claim that your computer is loaded with spyware and viruses just to make you buy the full version. Trust me, I even tested on a fresh install of windows.
For antispyware I recommend Ad-Aware SE pro and Spybot Search and Destroy. AVG also makes a good Antispyware program. All of these are free.

They both suck and they both use up alot of you PC's resources causing you machine to run a tad slow and take up alot of HDD space Zone alarm is by far the best and it has everything even an AIM protection firewall spyware and adware remover and anti-virus
