I'm not overweight at all (125lbs at 5'7), but I am completely out of shape. I can't run 2 blocks. I was thinking of swimming my way to fitness. Is it possible to be "in good shape" in 2-3 months? Any tips?

No, I'm not a smoker.

Also, I'm not interested in losing any weight. I have a hard time as it is to keep my weight up. And I don't mind looking "toned" but not muscley.

Thanks guys!

Of course you can do it in 2-3 months. Consistency is the key.
Here is what I did a while back and saw tremendous results:
Monday - Friday I did the following:
- 2 mile run
- 75 pushups (3 sets of 25)
- 99 situps (3 sets of 33) - actual sit-ups and not cruches

I couldn't believe it! All this sounds simple, but it's harder than what you think. After about a month, I noticed a signifigant change. I also did Pilates on the weekend and that helps with toning. I must admit, the pushups made me a bit bulky, so you might want to cut down on the reps...but still do 3 sets.
Good luck!

Swimming is a good start.

You could get in pretty decent cardiovascular condition in 3 months. Maybe not elite athlete status, but certainly to the point where you could swim a mile at a time or jog a 10k comfortably.

Start slow, but be sure to do something every day, preferrably for at least an hour.

Sure, you could get in BETTER shape, in two months. Not "good" shape, but better than you are now. Dieting and exercise is the key. You have to do BOTH of them. Not just diet and then sit around watching television. Not just exercise then eating a big bowl of Rocky Road ice cream. Both. I did it (exercise and changed my diet a little) and saw results in about two months... pants fit a little looser, arms got a little bigger. People actually noticed. I used diet, weight training and running. Oh and I stop smoking....

you have to start slowly like i did, only start with walking after work or on weekends for about 30-60minutes at your own pace. after about a month you will feel more energy and you will feel like jogging. If your a smoker forget about it! I used to smoke and all i can say is you will remain unfit.
