He should be sleeping about 20 hours per day, only waking to pee and poop and eat. He needs to be fed 4 times per day, and will poop a few minutes after each feeding..so that is when to take him outside.
Walking to the side is an indication of ear infection or hydrocephalus, so he needs to have a vet visit.

He needs to be seen by the vet anyway, as any breeder who places a puppy that young, has not had them vaccinated and de-wormed..

Totally normal. Puppes r always going ot be tired. And plus being a puppy so young they dont have good balnce yet so there going to go to the side, fall over, trip. So its perfectly normal he will out grow this. I have a 3 yr. old choc. lab and he was sooo cute and still is. I am always coming accross a funny picture of him when i think it was when we first got him. But hes sleeping and his head is on a little tupperware dish full of water. He was so tiny the dish wasn't even falling over!. Plus we have his son a choc. lab/rotti mix (unexpected babies!) hes only 8 months old so hes still apuppy and is soo cute. Except hes still sooo clumsy but i think thats just him. If it was possible he would trip over a line in the sidewalk. I know its mean but if hes walking over your foot we would lift our foot a little and he'd trip and it would be soo funny. But then we'd give him atreat and play with him to make it up. SO once he gets over hell get better controll over balance and will become more liveliar.
Hope this helps!

He's a pup, he's going to sleep alot. The walking is probably because he's always just waking up!
My concern is that puppies need to be with the mother until 8 weeks old, 6 wks is too young.
Take special care of the little guy!

Remember, he's only 6 weeks old so he's probably a little off-balanced. If this continues into the 2-4 month period, I would ask a vet. He is young, so he need a LOT of sleep. If's perfectly natural for a puppy to do that.

Good luck.

Our lab puppy slept ALL the time. She still does sleep a lot. Just make sure he gets a lot of exercise and I wouldn't worry about it.
But, if he's "walking to the side" - that's strange. Could be a lot of things. I'd tell your vet about it.

Yes it is. Puppies sleep a lot, get the hiccups a lot and piddle a lot. They are not very coordinated yet but each week you see that get better. Enjoy the nap time right now...pretty soon he won't require as much sleep and much more entertaining! Take lots and lots of pictures.

Its distinctly established, canines and domestic canines will maximum often breathe somewhat heavier/louder whilst they're drowsing. At 8 weeks, you could assume her to sleep lots, notably by means of fact at present became distinctly action-packed for her, along with her new domicile and relatives! She'll devour quickly, she's in all hazard nevertheless a splash stressful in her new ecosystem, provide her time. you could attempt accessible-feed her somewhat kibble, she'll in all hazard devour somewhat out of your hand. reliable good fortune with the pup!

Puppies do sleep a lot, however, I'm not sure about the side-walking. You should talk with your vet about that one.

if he's only 6 weeks he's definitely ok to sleep allday thats what puppies do. as for walking he is pretty young still. i would wait and see if he straightens up before getting too concerned. where did you buy your puppy from? can you call and ask them. Did your dog get vet checked before you bought him?
