Well I'm not bulimic or anorexic. It's like I'm obsessed with losing weight though. No matter how much weight I lose, it's like it's not enough, I have to lose a few more to be good. All my friends say that I am thin and bikini-material, but to me my thighs seem kinda big and I have a little extra flab. And I have a bf, so obviously i'm not super fat, but whenever I look in the mirror I'm like wow I need to lose weight! It's like an obsession...how can I stop?? I weigh 112lbs, I am fourteen, and I am 5'4 1/2" tall.

Sweetie, you are going to be okay. Because you are recognising you have a potential problem and have written it down and posted it. Good on you!
What the girls are telling you is likely correct. It is just how you are seeing yourself.
The girls that have died from eating disorders still thought they looked fat at 37k and 40k.
At 14 you are still developing and you may have a but of puppy fat, that is what they used to call it. But it is just the hormone changes going on in your body, and no exercise or diet is going to shift it.
It will disappear, all by itself in about another year or so .
As long as you keep eating a healthy diet and exercise.
Heavy dieting now could lead to all sort of problems in the future.
Problems that may not seem so important as being totally skinny now, but believe me in the future they will mean a lot to you.
Being too thin can lead to infertility. I am sure you know that, and other conditions that sometimes can't be reversed. Premature aging is another result of poor nutrition in pre and teenage years (12-20).
It is so sad to see women who are so desperately trying to have a baby after they have been married a a fair while.Find out the only reason that they haven't got pregnant, is due to what they did to themselves in their early teens.
You have so much to look forward to.
But I know this compulsion can override your rational thoughts also.It can be a monster trying to fight it alone.
So first talk to someone,a dietitian or even just your doctor.
If you really don't know were to ask for help or feel you can't, ring a hotline.
Do something, you really need someone to talk to,preferably a proffessional.
As there is a reason you feel this way about yourself. It is likely that even if you grow out of the dieting phase in time. You may find that another obsessive problem is trying to take over.
This will continue all through your life if you don't find out the reason.
It may be something that you consiously don't even acknowledge as a problem.
But the really good thing is, you have acknowledged this now, and can turn things your way.
So you can keep a nice trim healthy body.
One that you can finally,at last see.
Also have the best chance to live a long happy and healthy life.
Still looking great at 40 and more, but I know you can't really imagine yourself as that age, just yet.

No it is not an eating disorder. But you should talk to your dr or parents about it. There is a disorder called body dismorphic disorder, or BDD for short. You might not have a very severe case of it but you could have it. Take a look at the link and read about it. It should be helpful. and if it doesnt answer all your questions then google it and read more articles. you dont need to have an eating disorder to have a disorder. Seriously i would look into it if i were you. It seems like it can bring you down.I hope this helps.

That weight sounds normal. Many teenage girls get 'puppy fat' before going through a big growing stage in adolescence. It will go away in a couple of years. Dont obsess about losing weight. Maybe you can exercise to tone up your muscle a bit, but make sure you eat properly.

well,
i ALWAYS think that i am too. Mirrors suck. Just eat healthy girl, it will work. Go excercise too. You dont sound fat 112 pounds is pretty damn good for your height. If you are athletic and do sports than you will probibly look even better. And flab, dont worry. Everyone has some sort of flab. Do crunches. Or do squats if its your thighs that bother you. Drink water in between bites when you eat. I can honestly tell you that eating disorders dont work. Thorwing up makes you gain weight b/c you just keep half of whatever you didnt throw up. And not eating is hard. Lets say you didnt eat for 2 days. When you do eat again you are going to gain weight automatically b/c your body is like starving. I had an eating disorder. I see a nutrionist now. Eating disorders suck. but if you want to get into it.....go to www.proana.com www.promia.com
www.fatlikeme.com or google pro ana or pro mia. At least have a "safe eating disorder", dont forget, everyone has something that they dont like about themselves. You just have to learn to eat healthy i guess. If you want to get into eating disorders email me so i can at least help you do it right. im kristina and im 14 from Pennsyilvania. daniellesennefelder@yahoo.com okay girl?

If your weight really bothers you, you should do yoga. Maybe borrowing it from the library or taking lessons. Yoga is the healthiest and the most effective way to lose weight. Even though it may take a while to see the results, it's better than messing with food :D

You should probably see a psychologist about this. There's something called body dysmorphic disorder, BDD, where the person always has trouble with the way they look no matter how good they really look.

You need to see a therapist. There's something called Body Dysmorphic Disorder that causes you to see yourself as something other than what you really are. It can easily lead to developing an eating disorder, so please for your own sake, talk to someone about getting some kind of treatment.
