Compressed file . maybe to reduce its deskspace .
you can uncompress it to see whats inside using WinRaR program .

after you download it . install the software and then go to the compressed rar file and right click on it .. choose extract here ..
now you uncompressed it

You can easily open this using winrar -
You can google winrar to find the program to open it and extract it

It is a compressed file or set of files (like a zip file). I use AlZip, which supports many compressed file types (zip, rar, ace, cab, etc.).

You use winRar to create these archives but most high level zippers can extract these files like 7zip

It's one compression method, like the Zip one.
Try to download the Winrar from www.winrar.com that will do it...
