Then why do people say "Pardon my French" when they swear? Even though most of them don't speak French!! *Thinks*

and they'd laugh it off because they'd know that everybody would think theywere speaking in German!

If he were speaking English yes. If not he would say Pardon my French or whatever language he was speaking.
