Yes, it will definitely be a problem in cases where you might need to apply for visas etc. Or it may not be a problem.

I'd strongly advise to have your passport corrected to reflect the correct name. A legal document as important as a passport is not the place to have your short names/nick names. Any legal document must show your legal name as registered in your birth certificate.

I don't think it will be a problem, Steve is usually short for Steven. You can have your named corrected on your passport, to make it match your birth cert. Don't know how long that will take. Usually, you should have all your ID's & passport match your birth cert.

it really is a reliable question Sister Virginia, and that i'm no longer positive of the answer, notwithstanding it likely relies upon on what's being signed and the criteria. some belongings you signal it would not count number and then some files want a "finished" call signature and some wanted it listed on how apparently on "some thing" like a mastercard or bill. yet being that he's our "President", i ask your self if it does count number - and that is a reliable question. at the same time as my son became born, I had it on his start certificate that he turned right into a JR., yet I gave him a center call because the position his father did no longer have a center call so later discovered that he truly isn't a JR. because of the adaptation - i became youthful and not at all that vibrant...what am i able to say - ya stay and study. besides, I wil have an interest to make sure the answer for your question. i'd imagine he ought to signal besides he desires to. Take care Sis, Robin

There is no reason you will need both documents to travel. If you take your passport to travel, officials won't see the discrepancy. As long as the name on your ticket matches your passport, you're fine.

(Although I'm not sure how your passport was issued in a different name than your BC)

if your name is not Steve then you should change it! You don`t want to have problems when you take a vacation or at the wrong time, wrong place, wrong situation! It will take 1 or 2 months but you`ll have the peace of mind

Don't worry. Your passport is all you need. Even if your birth certificate, driver license, credit card etc...have a different name, the passport is the over ruling document.

Don't forget, nobody is going to ask for additional documentation.

I'm not sure how you got a passport with out your given name on it but it will be a real problem. They have become very strict on things like that. Get it fixed before you get stuck somewhere you don' want to be stuck.
