I am moving to New Mexico from North Carolina and need to switch both my driver's license and my registration to New Mexico. I am wondering how much this will cost and what the whole process is, like do I need to take a road test or anything?

Definitely check the state's dmv site (below) and be prepared for the fees. Make sure to mention if you're a student/military or anything that might affect the tax. I've done that about 4 times now & every state has different requirements. Ask upfront and tell them that you're from a different state so they can let you know if you need a vehicle/smog inspection, etc. Oh, also, these places usually only take cash or check, so have those handy. It's stressful, but get it done asap. Good luck!

You will have to take a vision test, bring proof of new address, ss card 18$ for a 4 year license or 34$ for an eight year license. All info you need is here...
