Think about it - some religions are based on dietary staples.
For example, the Aztecs and Classic Mayans worshipped a corn deity, and corn was the most common part of their diet.
Christians (or at least Catholics) eat the body and drink the blood of Christ, and they worship him too. (And bread and wine were food staples in the ancient Middle East).
Any other religions you can think of that worship their food?

I didn't mention muslims... and get YOUR facts straight; Islam began in the 7th century, hundreds of years after Christianity, based on an existing semitic religion in the ancient middle east, began. lol
