If he is recently neutered, he will continue that for a few more weeks till his testosterone level completely depleats, which takes 1 to 1 1/2 months after being neutered. He is still feeling the pull to stray and scent mark. He probably is itching to check his mail. In other words he needs to see who strayed through his turf during the night and marked in his territory and remark with his scent. Another reason is that Cats love to go out first thing as the sun rises. You hear the saying the early bird gets the worm, well the early cat gets the early bird! That is prime hunting time for a cat, cause all the birds and little critters he hunts are waking up with the sun too and starting to move around for food and he wants to be in position to hunt before they are there. Also my cat is two and neutered and just loves to bask on the front porch as the sun comes up if he's not hunting and if we don't let him out for his morning ritual he wakes everyone up doing the same thing, I wear earplugs and that works for me. Or if he's and indoor outdoor cat just put him out for the night, or lock him away in another part of the house with litterbox access and sleep well.

Could your cat have an illness? Cats are very prone to Bladder/kidney infections. This may be a possibiltiy. Or he may just be being a pain in the rear and demanding that, since he is up, you should be up with him too. Cats are the most complex "mentally" of any of our pets. They are intelligent and they think. That is what makes it so hard. Is his food dish empty at that time in the morning. Do you give him a special treat in the am to eat. Many people give their cats wet cat food in the morning and the dry throughout the day. He may want his food now! does he go outside? He may need to go out if he is used to this. I hope he is not crying for his package you had removed a bit ago! hehe. (I mean his testies). Otherwise just keep trying things to see what he wants. Believe it or not, animals remember trauma. Getting "fixed" can be very traumatic for them. He may just need some extra love and reassurance that you are there and won't let anyone hurt him again. Give him time and love. Keep trying to see if it is somethig else he may need, but relax, the more you stress - the more he will.

Is he hungry? Are there birds outside that he is yelling at? Another cat outside that he is talking to? Do you get up and see what is problem is every morning? If you do, he's learing that he can wake you up when he wants you up, no matter what you think. If this is the only time he does it, that probrably the case. He wants you for something at 6 am everyday, and you are letting him have it.

My mom's cat did the same thing recently and it turned out to be a kidney infection, I suggest bringing him to the vet. Or he also just may be hungry at that time in the morning. Good luck

Is he hungry? Try feeding him right before you go to bed.. this is what my cats whine about... What makes him stop whining? If anything get a water bottle and put it next to your bed... spray him everytime he starts meowing =) This will soon make him get the point to shut up =)

do you leave food out for him? do you keep him out of the bedroom when you sleep? You should keep food out for the cat at all times.. they dont over eat. If you kicked him out of your bedroom during the night he may just want some love in the morning. If it looks like he is in pain notify your vet asap and ask them if this is a after side effect of the surgery.

I had the same problem with my cat, Simon. He just thought he had to be fed at 5 a.m. Drove me nuts! lol And the even already HAD food in the dish. He just always thought it was "empty" if he ever saw the bottom of the dish. lol Eventually, I just put earplugs in and ignored him, so he gave up.

My 2 cats did that a lot when they were younger and now do it sometimes when I sleep in. I think mine did it because they were lonely and wanted to me get up and keep them company. Very social cuddly little buggers.

Maybe he's crying to go out because he needs to 'go', you could try leaving down a litter tray overnight. My elderly cats (17 years) have started wailing when they think no-one's home.

if he is on a schedule, then something must have been changed. for example, my cat starts asking for water as soon as i wake up in the morning....if he he vocalizing, he's trying to tell you he needs something....the fun part is figuring out what it is! good luck
