I'm 30 and this girl is 33. We've gone out on 4 dates (the 5th is tomorrow) and just wondering when it is appropiate to get the status of our relationship. Should I ask or just keep going out for a few more dates?

Well, here is the funny part...she is probably thinking the same thing. See, the thing about saying that you are "dating a girl/guy" and that you "have a girlfriend/boyfriend" is: "The Talk." You know what I mean...the awkward question that pops up during "casual" conversation but is never really casual. And there aren't many ways to ask it..."Are you now my girlfriend?" Well...how retarded is that? But it has to be asked if you want to take your relationship to the next stage...so, yes, she obviously likes you since you are going out for the fifth time...so you should ask her...well, I'm not really sure cos it also depends on her character...if you guys did the hanky panky then it is appropriate to ask cos some girls won't want to make it official before they know what you are like in bed...but if she is shy, go for it: ask her and make it as casual as possible...include friends...like have someone meet you out and then have him ask the question...that is the best way...I know it sounds childish, but it works every time and it is the best known way to avoid the awkward atmosphere after u pop the question...good luck!

Just live...keep dating. She may think she's your girlfriend by now...maybe not. Did you ask her to be your girl? Sounds like you want that....ask.
There's no limitation, everyone's different.

I'm 38 and married 15 years.....we only knew each other for 8 months. We both knew what we wanted and what to look for, due to failed relationships beforehand.

Note:
I said to keep dating because we still do....that fire is burning bright for us.

It doesnt matter how many dates you have gone on. She is not your girlfriend untill you ask her. By now I think you should know if you want to ask her and what her answer would be.

I would never consider a woman my girlfriend. I dont' swing that way. Seriously, just tell her how you feel and ask her where she sees the two of you going, if she thinks there is a realtionship on the horizion.

sometimes you just have to consider total time spent together

dates or no dates

I have a girlfriend like that, I'm not giving her up for anybody or anything. If somebody even thinks about hurting her, they would regret it.

Just ask her. At your age, there shouldn't be any games to be played so go ahead and just ask her. Quit beating around the bush.
