Islam vaules the modesty of women so much that Muslim women and girls cover themselves and not show their beauty to anyone except their husbands, fathers, sons, and other close male family members. Plus it's backed in a strong Hadith by Prophet Muhammed(PBUH*) and in the Qur'an that believing Muslim women and girls should cover everything except the eyes. Most Muslim women for some odd reason choose to ignore the Hadiths and not follow them.

They don't have to get dressed behind veils, some of them just have to wear veils when they are out in public. And not all do - I don't think I have ever seen a Muslim woman in the US wearing anything more covering on her head than a head scarf that covers her hair.

The traditional hiijab dress is done out of something called "modesty." However, who do you think determined what "modest" is?

A Muslim MAN, that's who. Women have no say in that society.

Other people's interpretations of literary texts are very subjective. If you believe in a God, do you think he would create the human body because he wanted people to be ashamed by them?

Make your own decisions and don't let others control your life.

For modesty. Actually, Christian women are supposed to cover their hair while prophesying or praying, and also supposed to pray at all times, so should have their hair covered at all times. If they don't want to do this, they are supposed to shave their heads. Muslim women have it easier than Christians - we are only supposed to cover our hair when we pray or are among males who are not our immediate family.
