It's kind of tricky, because either he sees her as a sister and thinks you're gonna take her away or he is the neuthered friend who dreams of getting in her pants but don't have the guts to make a move and thinks you're gonna take her away. Try to do things that involve just the two of you. Pick her up at her home, or if you're in school, tell him (in front of her and as nicely as you could manage) that you need to talk to her in private. Make sure you let him know that you're the boyfriend, and that you guys are a couple and need time alone and might wanna do things that involve just the two of you. If all else fails hook him up with a geeky girl and let them be happy.

When you & her best m8 is alone tell him nicely that you are going to Thump him if he don't disappear & tell him that you want some time alone with your gf.

Tell him not to say anything to your gf otherwise he will get more than one thumping

Say that if he is around with you & your girlfriend & you want him to go then tell him that within 5 minutes of you saying 'Good night , he is to go.

Then ask him if he understands exactly what you said & get him to say yes..

You will then have no problem with him or your GF

Good luck

Talk to her and give her the opportunity to put her friend in his place. It does not have to be anything mean, but he needs to know that your relationship with her is different than his, and the 2 of you need time to yourselves once in a while.
If she in not willing to do that, you should question how much she really cares about this relationship. Maybe it means more to you than it does to her.

You might want to consider hanging out in English class a little more. Maybe concentrate on spelling and grammer, maybe a little sentence structure.

If he's not seeing her then it wouldnt be a issue for him to alter his sort. suitable? And if she finally ends up with the hot sort then some thing ought to be occurring. or maybe you in simple terms could sit down and characteristic a heart to heart with him.
