You are speaking of the passage in John. John's introduction speaks of the trinitarian nature of God. God is Jesus and the perfect revelation of the word of God is perfect in Christ. However, I do not worship a silent God. God speaks to me through other people, through music, through the scriptures, through many other methods. God gives me peace when I ask for it, and he reminds me that I am loved when I am down and questioning if I really am loved.

Some Christians do believe that God no longer speaks, but I am not one of those. You have to really go back and understand the book of John to get the whole idea of the word becoming flesh. Do not look at it too literally. It is simply giving a description that God the Father and Christ are ONE. They are not separate. That's seen in the first few verses. "In the beginning there was the word, and the word was with God, and the word WAS God." It is using the creation story's beginning line "in the beginning there was". Both Jesus is said to be the word and God is said to be the word; therefore, yes, God is still able to speak. The word is with him and in him and IS him. Yes, Christianity is slightly confusing sometimes. I know that. But, realize this, if God no longer spoke, I wouldn't be worshiping him. I do not believe in a silent God. I believe in the Risen Christ and the God that still speaks.

In Christ,
Amanda

God speaks through His Word made flesh, Jesus who is featured in God's written Word, the Bible.

The Bible is God's written Word to us.
It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Above all you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. 2 Peter 1:20-21. (New International Version)

Breakdown of the Bible

You try this every day. The concept of the trinity says that Jesus was both God and man at the same time. How that is possible is a mystery and could be considered a miracle in the same way that you say the Quran is true because Mohammed could not have written such beautiful language.

God can do anything. You agree with that, don't you? He chose to be both human on earth and the infinite God at the same time.

No, of direction no longer. the popular perception of Christianity is that Jesus is God and the 2nd individual of the Trinity. those heretical communities that deny that Jesus is God such by way of fact the Arian sects of the Jehovah Witnesses, Church of God worldwide, Iglesia ni Cristo and the oneness Pentecostals are no longer Christians in that they do no longer include the Trinity yet deny it. All Arians have been condemned by utilising the authority of Christ given to the Church in 325 advert on the Council of Nicaea. The Mormons are a henotheistic group modeled after the classic Roman and Greek Pagan ideals and are not Christian as nicely yet rather have self assurance and prepare that there are families of God's. in addition they prepare that each committed male individual will additionally substitute right into a God. Sound ordinary? this is an analogous lie that devil used with Eve to reason the autumn of guy. It nevertheless works right this moment. God bless! In Christ Fr. Joseph

The Word took on a fleshly nature for a time, in addition to His divine nature, when Jesus came to earth to live as a man. The "flesh" part died, along with Jesus' physical body, when His work as the the son of Man was finished. But the Word is of God, and is therefore eternal.

As for how God is able to speak, for us to suppose that we could ever begin to imagine any limit to God's power seems to me irreverent and arrogant. I urge you to abandon that line of thinking, for your own sake.

My goodness! You don't understand spiritual things nor do you understand who God is. God is not a physical being, so what makes you think God needs a mouth to speak? You need to do a deep study of anthropomorphism in relation to how man can relate to God.

For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him.
The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. -John 3:34-35.
God has given everything to Jesus, the word, the Spirit, and everything. Not by measure, means unlimited.

If you would understand the Trinity you would know Jesus has become God's Word in flesh.

Logos is knowledge and wisdom, not a voice. God gave it to Jesus and I think He would give it to all of us if we would only ask.
