I have heard from some Christian men that they had a hard time coming to the Lord because of that very thing. But the love you have for Him is as a father and are you gay for loving your father?

God is your Heavenly Father. He is the closest relative you have - no, He would not make you gay - you made you gay.
He will always love you, just as you will always love your children, regardless of what they may do that is wrong. But you would correct your children because you love them, wouldn't you?
Well, God will correct those children who do wrong as well. Talk to Him.
