Did a quick check on United for travel in Mar 9-16 to Honolulu, it can cost about $1100.

I think the best airfare is to go to the airlines web-site directly. Here are some major carriers to Hawaii.

It depends on where you are flying from and what island you are going to. There are more flights to Honolulu than to Kauai so ticket prices to Kauai are usually higher than tickets to Honolulu. When I looked to go to Kauai this summer, ticket prices were around $700. You may be able to save if you buy a package. I went to Orbitz and bought airfare, hotel and rental car. The price was quite reasonable. I would budget at least $800 just to be safe.

I go to Hawaii twice a year from Massachusetts and I have never paid over $600 using Delta. It all depends on what days you're looking to travel, when you're wanting to travel (summer prices are usually more unless you book early), and how long you want to stay.

I usually book through Pleasant Holidays located at http://www.pleasantholidays.com/PleasantHolidaysWeb/Welcome.do or King's Travel located at: http://www.reallycheapfares.com
