Polydactylism is somewhat common in cats (it means extra digits, sometime with or without the claw part, etc). It doesn't affect them much, although some with more than six do have some problems, especially in keeping it all clean.

No they are not worth a lot of money or even a little money. They are not rare either I have 3 of them. What they are called are polydactyl. That is not a breed either it just means extra toes, nothing more. It is a genetic defect. A gene that is passed on that causes it to have extra toes one of the parents had to have polydactyl feet for a kitten to have it. R P CAT

That 7th toe is actually normal, some cats have them some cats don't.
It is all genetic, she has 7 toes because her mother did too.
If she were to have kittens they would also.

Spome people view these as unsightly and You can have dew claws surgically removed but I think that would be a little cruel and I think they look cute. When we picked out a cat we looked for one specifically with 7.

LOL It's okay both of my friends cats have seven toes!! And the litter that they got them from all had seven toes! But please make sure the nails from the toes don't grow around into the skin! Keep them trimmed well!! Also make sure they're keeping there toes clean!

Good Luck!!

I used to have a wonderful cat w/ 9 toes on each front foot. She could pick up a marble! I just loved her big furry feet, they were so cute.
Make sure the nails don't get too long, give them scratching posts, etc.

Because they inherited the polydactyl (many toed) genes from one or both of their parents. It's a mutation that is carried down through the generations. It won't affect their being happy healthy cats in any way and I think the little "mitten feet" are so cute.

Maybe their part Norwegian Wood Cat. They often have extra toes. Do they or their parents have long brownish fur?
