company that does our payroll stating that I was terminated as an at will employee. Will this prevent me from drawin unemployment in the state of Ohio? He clearly made an announcement to the office that next day that I was let go for purely business financial reason & the job position no longer exists.

As an "at will" employee, this means that your employer may terminate you and don't need to have a valid reason to terminate you, rather than needing to show cause to terminate you. By considering you an at will employee, this means that your employer is under no obligation to provide you with severance pay.

Being an at will employee has no bearing on whether you would qualify for unemployment or not. In order to qualify for unemployment, you have to be terminated from your employment, as opposed to you quitting. Because you were terminated, you would qualify for unemployment.

No, it doesn't matter whether you were let go because your job no longer exists, or terminated as an at-will employee which could mean a variety of reasons, including that your job no longer exists. You are eligible for unemployment comp with either wording. If you were terminated for serious misconduct, you might not be, but there is no hint of that in either wording.

All jobs in Ohio are "at will". It's the law. And it makes no difference as far as unemployment is concerned. You are eligible for unemployement.
