The doctor tells the evil captain that "Following orders for the sake of obeying is something only people like (the captain) can do." And the little girl refuses to let her little brother be hurt in the final ritual, since that would be evil, and thus she passes the final test.
Contrarily, in the Bible, Abraham bucks up and tries to kill his son because God commanded it, thus failing a moral test! Am I right? Any other thoughts?
Pretty wild movie!

Hope it gets the Oscar this Sunday. It deserves it.

Oh, and yeah, I thought also of Abraham myself when I saw it!!!

(Although it is NOT a Mexican movie, it's a Spanish film directed by Del Toro, a great Mexican Director, pretty much like that Harry Potter film directed by Alfonso Cuarón - another Oscar nominee BTW)

Well the Faun wasnt representing God in anyway, so no I dont agree, and yea by her follwing the orders of the fuan without questions that wouldve made her like the Captian and his soilders. I thought it was an awesome movie.

It is obvious from the story of Abraham that God doesn't want someone that does what is right. He wants someone who is obedient.... A yes man.

Good if it spits in the face of the Parable of Abraham.

It's just a parable anyway.

Who said God wants people to do what's right? God wants only obdediant little sheeple in his presence. If we did what is "right", God would be punished and killed.
