If you guys are right then boom death is it...in fact you won't even be around to point your finger at me and say I told you so...but what if I'm right? What if you have to stand before Jesus Christ one day and account for your life? What will you do then?

Well, I would, except that Christianity (and Islam and Judaism) have this holier than thou attitude that tried to achieve power over others and I have no desire for such power (e.g. abortion rights, homosexual rights...).

I did. When I was younger. Some may not like this, but I grew out of my belief and faith. I found more comfort and more understanding in my atheistic beliefs than anything else. My life is better now that I am true to myself and I have a belief structure that actually makes sense to me.

Being christian, just going through the motions of something I don't believe in, would almost be disrespectful of me.

This nation, being what it is, is mostly christian. Most of the people on here that are not christian, probably had some christian roots as kids. So most of the people on here, grew out of it as I did.

What will I do if confronted by Jesus, and my beliefs about Jesus are wrong...(I don't think that a fair and benevolent God would punish a good person anyway just because of belief in them. That's all ego.)

I would tell Jesus, that I did the best that I could. I was honest, worked hard, treated people well, and was true to myself. For, if you cannot be true to yourself, how easy is it to lie to someone else?

If the Christian God does exist and is as he has been characterized by his worshippers: ie all powerful, all loving, and all knowing, he will a) have the power to forgive b) love everyone, even non-believers and c) know the good that i have done in my life, that i lived and chose a belief system according to the best of my knowledge, based on rational thought, education and experience and NOT just what others told me i should believe, and most importantly know that humanity is imperfect and is unable to encompass the whole truth of the universe including the existence of a supernatural deity, and therefore not hold me accountable for not knowing something i couldn't have known. So I am not worried.
That's my answer in a nutshell; however, what if you're wrong - What if you have to stand before Anubis one day and account for your life? What will you do then?
There is absolutely no reason to think that the Christian god, of all gods that have "made their presence known to man," exists.

I'm not at all worried about standing before Jesus because I won't have to. I'm Jewish; I'll go to a very different place and Jesus won't be there. If I did have to face Jesus, I would say: Why do you want such arrogant, condescending people as your followers? Why didn't you do something about them?

Oh, Pascal. I cannot wait for the day you lose your Wager so I don't have to hear such narrow-minded dribble any longer!

So, we should "fake" Christianity in a sense? Just in case? I'd rather live my life serving humanity and not some theoretical God.

(I'm putting iced tea in my shot glass. It's a little too early for the harder stuff).

I gave christianity a chance. I was raised Roman Catholic. It just didn't feel right to me. And just because I am not a christian, does not mean I am an athiest. Equating the two is like saying because you're not muslim, you are an athiest. There are other religions out there beyond Jesus Christ.

Gave Christianity a chance already, thanks.

Why would I want to be so juvenile as to point my finger at you and say "I told you so"

If I found myself standing before the your God, the one you call Jesus, I'd know the taxi took me to the wrong address.

Jesus may be "Just alright" with you, however my path to the Divine goes a different way.

I honestly did for 10 years, it's not working for me anymore.

When Christians talk about judgement day this is the same thing to me as having a mother constantly telling her kids to behave and any time they are out of line saying wait 'til your father gets home ... it's a scare tactic to force a desired behaviour.

So, we are supposed to start taking shots when a Pascal's Wager question comes up? I didn't get the memo on this. Am in not on the mailing list. If so, how do I get on the mailing list.

I also vote for Tequila, I have some Patron at the house.

But what if your wrong? What if the true religion is one other then yours? What if join your religion causes me to go to hell? What if you died right now and found out you were wrong, would I be able to point and say 'I told ya so'? What if you have to stand before a G-d other than the one you worship one day and account for your life? What would YOU do then?

It could just as easily be reincarnation. Fear of eternal damnation is NOT a good reason to DECIDE to believe something. Try to encourage people to follow you by setting an example of those beliefs applied to life, and stop letting your youth pastor convince you to try and scare people into Christian conformity.

God determines who lives with Him in the afterlife, not you. And furthermore, you shouldn't look at salvation as the only reason to believe. I think Jesus might not appreciate it.
