My boyfriend and I were friends for a few months and a month ago we started seeing eachother exclusively. The relationship is great and neither of us have any complaints whatsoever. We went to the humane society and bought a dog recently and now it we jokingly refer to the dog as our lovechild. But sometimes when he says "go get mommy" to the puppy, I get a weird feeling. Not good. Not bad. Just weird. Did I make a mistake?

The dog lives with him, but I stay over there every night and the nights he stays at my place, he brings the dog with. I suppose if we were to break up, then he would keep the dog because the adoption was in his name.

Well how does your boyfriend personally feel about having a dog? If you think that he is giving you weird vibes about it then you need to ask him upfront about the dog whether or not he truly enjoys it or not, although sometimes when you get a new pet reguardless of where they came from then there will sometimes be some weird tension that will clear up if nothing brought up. If you love that puppy then you should keep him and you can help your boyfriend love the new puppy too.

Adopting a pet is a huge responsibility and commitment that you cannot take lightly. It sounds like you have not been together very long, however, this may serve to strengthen your bond. Your feeling of unease may simply be a reaction to the realization that this is a big commitment quite early in the relationship. I think it is good that you take the adoption of a pet seriously enough to wonder. If the two of you do break up, just be sure that the pet does not suffer.

In my opinion yes. One you have only been together a couple months. If something happens who gets the dog,and is that dog going to be a burden because it reminds you of that other person.

The dogs are not the concern, they comprehend which you hate them, and it appears that evidently such as you have tried preparation techniques that comprise extra adverse reinforcement. the main effective reinforcement is often helpful reinforcement, compliment, treats, etc. And definite, the bf needs to help out extra, yet that may no longer the dogs's concern, this is YOURS and HIS. he's an fool who does not comprehend that dogs desire style masters, they desire somebody to the two cuddle up with and tell them what to do. they are dependable creatures, and crave interest the two in a entertainment and in a command kind. in case you attempt to love those dogs and manage them with extra kindness, i'm going to guess that they start up listening further and further (are you specific you incredibly comprehend a thank you to stroll dogs? there's a undeniable thank you to get them to heel and supply up paying interest to different issues), and that i'll even guess that as quickly as your bf starts off information/seeing all of it, he would be extra trouble-free to cajole to get off his lazy ***. Cats and dogs, fortunate if it's going to ever in great condition mutually; admonish the dogs with a pointy "NO!", and decrease your hand rapidly next to their head on a similar time as you assert it (under no circumstances HIT THEM). this is a warning of kinds to enable them to comprehend that they are going too far. yet lower back, preparation in simple terms works whilst they have appreciate for his or her proprietor, and regrettably, this is you through fact your bf's an fool.

No I don't really think you made a mistake. But if I were in your situation I would feel a little weird if the relationship was not serious.
