tell them you can't talk, that they need to stop calling, say you're hanging up, and then hang up...that's the more mature thing to do

LOL, that's pretty funny. I think you should just tell them nicely that the calls are too much. Say your boss has questioned you about all the phone calls and how the phones always ringing causing a distraction. Tell them to limit the calls to atleast 1 a day and to just call your cell phone for all other reasons. Good luck!

You need to do something! Maybe you should desist in being nice and explain that unless someone is dieing, they should not call you. If it still continues, don't answer the phone if you have caller id. If it goes through a switchboard, ask the receptionist to not put the calls through. That is crazy! Usually it's the kids not respecting the parents work space!

Tell them you're getting in trouble over being called so much. If that doesn't work, I'd stop answering the phone -most cell phones do show who's calling don't they?

Although it is a funny thought, I think your parents would have hurt feelings if you did that. Just tell them you are getting in trouble for taking personal calls. If you are the boss and don't get in trouble see about getting caller id so you can let their calls go to voice mail.

Tell them you got written up for excessive personnel calls, you may even go as far as making up the warning document and getting someone to sign, it tell the you get 3 warnings before termination and this is the 2nd.

Have you tried suggesting to them that your boss disapproves? Perhaps tell them that your job could be in jeopardy because of the amount of personal calls. I dont' think you can lie about your number because they might try the old one and you'll get caught. If things don't improve, perhaps have another employee explain it to them. You have to be a professional and get your work done (that's why you're getting paid!) and they should understand that and back off a bit.

Just ask them if you can move back home because soon you will be out of a job for receiving so many personal calls.

Yes, that would be mean. They are your parents. You need to explain to them that they need to quit calling so much, and tell them that they need to call your cell. Just tell them that your boss said that you CAN NOT take personal calls at work anymore.*

Yeah- that's pretty mean. You could tell them they are putting your job in jeopardy... or do you have call display at work? If so, don't answer. If not, just be abrupt when they call and end the conversation immediately.

let them know that your employers policy has changed and you are not allowed personal calls at work. if an emergency, have them ask the police or hospital contact you. tell them; you will lose your job if they continue to call.
