Actually more expensive than now, would you believe? As miniaturization of components and electronic 'boards' have evolved and consumerism has increased prices are way down for the average home TV...

In the early days of TV, DuMont introduced the first large-screen tv sets, about 20" size, when most tv's were 10" or 12". They were in beautiful consoles, and cost about $3000 in the late '40s. You could buy a Buick or Oldsmobile for about the same amount.

Back then the prices were high, BUT the TVs lasted LONGER!

Lower prices (Walmart Junk) Lasts 30days-5 years. Cheap!

Still buying a quality unit hasnt changed.

depends on the type of tv you are talking about. i know color tv's were very expensive in the 70s but as time went on they became chaper.

what type of tv are you talking about? how many inches? wood body or plastic?
