Avast! It is very non-intrusive, yet does a great job. It even gives a verbal notification of updates.

AVG is crap ware. So far i agree with most of the posters here. If you want protection that works you need a paid version of Avira or Kaspersky. Personally, I like Kaspersky the best. If your computer is clean it will stay clean with Kaspersky. I have had it now for two years. 2 virus free years. I can say that with Avast or AVG. Get rid of AVG while your ahead. If you keep it it's only a matter of time before your hopelessly infected with Trojan mal ware. You can get a virus anywhere on the net. Some places are worse than others. You need something that works. Not some little kiddie AV.

I've used Mozilla Firefox for over a year now and like it just fine. Before that I had Norton and when it expired and I tried to update, the new version wouldn't work with my old Windows ME. I didn't want to upgrade to XP and so someone suggested Mozilla Firefox and I think it is very good.

Avira, AVG any of those, just do a search for free antivirus and it should list some. The best are those ive listed so far

We have used Free AVG for 3 years now, and it has always protected us well. Absolutely no Viruses etc.

AVG do not do freebies now, from 18th feb they started to charge.

avast is the best freebie atm, with free updates.

Dont use Norton! Its a nightmare. Use AVG as it is very good and is a free download
