I have thrown my back out playing softball. It hurts in my lower back, and mostly only when i get up or bend over. Any suggestions? I am keeping icy/hot patches on it and taking ibuprofen. I called my chiropractor, he said the dr. cant do anything but gove pain meds, and it has to fix on its own....true?

Not true. Your lumbar spine needs to be assessed. Please contact another recommended chiropractor. You shouldn't have to hurt like this. The visit is not expensive, takes only a few minutes and you'll be better. RN

Not true. Your doctor can send you to a physical therapist who can help relieve the pain and also show you exercises to prevent future injuries.

Sprains can heal on their own and can take a long time. You've already spoken to the experts; listen to them.
