People around Georgia, souther baptists, most believe that all they have to do is go to church and believe is Jesus, and they are saved. Then they go out and drink and party every weekend and break most of the commandments. But they think they are saved anyway cause they believe in Jesus. Now doesn't this just sound like complete BS?

I am a Protestant, though never a Southern Baptist, and I do not believe all I have to do is believe. Grace is difficult to understand for even the most educated Biblical Scholars. Once saved, always saved they will say (that is NOT what Grace is by the way)...I know...but this does not mean you can do whatever you please...you will still be judged by God in the end for your actions (and I believe in works as well, though I am not a Catholic).

It is BS. You cannot claim to love Christ and dwell in sin without repentance.

Drinking is not a sin, drunkeness is, although some protestants believe Jesus passed around grape juice at the last supper. Wine is wine, fermented grapes making alcohol. Juice is juice.

Bible says wine, it means wine. Anyway.

What is actual truth is no matter what you do, you can be forgiven. After you are saved, it is still possible to fall, but Christians repent, and move on, this is the wonderful part of Gods grace, He still loves us if we mess up, and loved us before we ever were saved to begin with. Loved us enough to die for us.

I know. That is the bad thing about Protestant doctrine, you can interpret the bible how you want and you can create your own rules.

James 2:24
"You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone"

Martin Luther took out books of the bible he didn't like and even he was devoted to the Virgin Mary and he believed in the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. For this he had an arguement with the council of Protestants who wanted to do away with this. Protestants have pretty much diluted everything. Faith AND works is needed, you can't just say you believe and hope to enter heaven.

I believe you are confused.
If you said that Episcopals, Catholics, Methodist, Charismatics, and so did that-I might believe it. But Southern Baptist-no way. Besides the Amish, Mennonite, and Independent Baptist, the Southern Baptist are about as straight as you can get.
You are wrong. Now, you may know someone who "claims" to be a Christian, and goes to a Baptist church. But this is not typical of a Southern Baptist, -actually it is the opposite.
I am not a Southern Baptist by the way, I do know quiet a few.

Death is the proof that their beliefs are both mistaken and incomplete.

Jesus work of redemption is not finished, but is ongoing.

Jesus didn't pay for all our sins. Jesus gave his life so sins could be forgiven, and so mankind could be redeemed from Satan's evil dominion.

"Once saved - always saved" is a myth.

Good works do matter, as do bad works.

The present day nation of Israel has little or nothing in common (other than apostacy, and the ongoing persecution of Christians) with the Israel of old.

Jesus didn't use unfermented grape juice. If he ever ran out of real wine, he could make as much of it as he needed, from water.

It says that in the Bible.

Believing in something is not the same as having faith in something.

But, by faith I mean the following:

Faith commences with the conviction of the mind based on adequate evidence; faith continues in the confidence of the heart or emotions based on conviction, and faith is crowned in the consent of the will, by means of which the conviction and confidence are expressed in conduct.

Key points:
Conviction of the Mind
Confidence of the Heart
Consent of the Will
Conduct of the Body

As you can see from the above, faith affects the whole of a person's nature. Even the demons *believe*. Belief is not enough. Faith without works is dead, just as the fig tree cursed by Christ when it did not ber fruit. By a Christian's fruit you will know their true nature.

It is complete BS. They are not true Christians

You need to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, accept his forgiveness, die to your former evil immoral lifestyle, follow his commandments and live according to Biblical principles. Read God's Word daily, pray even more often, worship God through hymns and praise music, display the fruit of the spirit (joy, peace, gentleness, temperence, meekness, longsuffering, kindness) help the less fortunate, show love and concern for the unlovely, tell others of Jesus Christ's sacrificial death and resurrection for salvation, help those who belief to fully understand God's Word and mature spiritually and memorize God's Word.

The Bible says that by their fruits you will know who are true followers of Jesus Christ.

There are 2 ways to live.

Because many do not live by the word of God, nor abide by it- They think works will get them saved when it is only by the grace of God we are saved-- see Ephesians 2:8

We believe the Lord Jesus did die on the cross and was raised from the dead, and we confess our sins, and repent of them. This is what sets us free from sin and hell. God gives us a new heart and the Holy Spirit ( Ephesians 1 explains the Holy Spirit given to those who are saved) -Many are not truly saved, they do not have a heart for the Lord, nor were they truly transformed when they prayed--meaning they did not believe with all their heart, but continued to hold onto sin, because they wanted it in their lives. So they go to church thinking that will make up for it- when the Bible is clear, it is only by grace we are saved-through FAITH!
Romans 10:9
That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Romans 10:10
For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

Acts 16:31
"Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved."
NIV

you can't judge all Christians by what some do. I know some give us a bad rep. We are to be examples, I don't know why some drink and party, but maybe they are young in the faith.

Protestants know that Salvation is a free gift that can only be obtained by admitting they are sinners, asking for forgiveness, knowing that JESUS (is GOD incarnate) died on the cross for said sins, and through faith try to live Christ-like lives. repentance is between the individual and God, humans are not here to judge another Christians faith.
