Yes, it is. Why? Several reasons being. The first reason, paper bags are made from wood by-products. Whereas plastic bags are made from polymers (oil based). Just about everyone knows that wood by-products are biodegradable and oil takes forever (sometimes never) to breakdown into biodegradable products.

Someone could argue that the economic of food cost would go down if grocers went back to paper bags because of the price of oil. The increase price of oil costs is a reflection every time you check out. The cost of groceries include: transportation, warehousing, and yes, even bags. There are sufficient quality of wood that can be produced from our northern neighborhood of Canada - If our lovely government would lift the ban of softwood trade...thus, cheaper wood products (this could even run over to lowering the price of housing)!!!

Thirdly, how many children die each year from plastics? A few. There are hardly any health repercussions from paper bags with youth.

I hope that this helps you.

it is an fairly simplified description. Paper baggage are weaker, and definite they kill timber, yet timber could nicely be replanted and paper baggage could nicely be double bagged for extra power. Paper baggage are additionally recyclable or biodegradeble as long as they don't have a wax coating. Plastic baggage on the different hand, are extra much less costly to supply and better, yet no recyclable by using fact they are sucha low grade plastic. Reusable to a pair volume, and a few biodegradeble ones appearing on the marketplace in recent times. those could additionally be useful in that they could be produced by using recycled components. finished food baggage: i could say that a damaging of those is they are purely a merchandising and marketing ploy via somewhat some agencies, yet it quite is to not say they could't be meritorious. keep in mind regardless of the undeniable fact that, that honestly everyone continues to be making use of plastic baggage in determination to those, and that i understand somewhat some people who do not take those with them each and every the place they pass. And the technique to creatre them does pass away some ecological imprint, make no mistake. it quite is being suggested, i could say Plastic and finished food baggage.

Cloth/canvas bags are the best option. They are not as inconvenient as you think. We can always carry/keep some in the car.
Actually the grocery stores can use these too just like plastic bags, when they will be mass produced the prices would just go down.

look here man!!!! paper is of coourse a very good alternative to polythene bags, indeed, but the paper we us for crarrying purposes are the very worst kinds of paper.

so i say that paper can be the right alternative only when it is high quality paper and, of course, durable.
i hope u wont want 2 spill ur groceries in the streets, will u??????

they should be portable(of ourse they should be portable)and light.
they should also be ECO- FRIENDLY . i'd rarher think canvas (if afforded) would be the best for the job, anyways.

Maybe. Plastic bags are made from petroleum, but usually from petroleum products that have been recycled.
Paper bags tend to be made from biproduct wood, sometimes but not always recycled.

The absolute best bet is using reusable bags, but it is not convienient.

Depends on the situation. If you are doing small shopping trips or such, you may want to bring your own bag (cloth, canvas, etc), as an even better alternative.
