17 -- Had already Graduated High School, took my Oath of Military Service, and my siblings followed shortly afterwards ...
The reason: Our parents were older when they had us, and with a WWII Paraplegic Veteran for a Father, a Speech Therapist/Teacher Mother, and they already had lots of health problems, so we all did not want to stress them any further ... and then we would drive from our duty stations on a rotating basis to help them around the home.
Unfortunately .. we ended up having to bury our parents as very young adults ... so they never saw any of us obtain the ranks that we did (or currently hold), never saw our Retirements or Degrees or Graduate Degrees ... and that is something that we sadly reflect upon each year.

18, My mom and I Did not realy get along, so I took her offer for help, and moved into a Boarding house that one of her friends owned. It was A Very Good Choice. I Now realize that living with your parents too long could lead to strained relatinships. Now I get along with my parents great!!!

i was 17. i left on my own will my parents were very good to me i just wanted to be a grown up. i am 22 about to be 23 in May and i never wanna go back

I was 20. I moved from New York State to California to be with the man I fell in love with. It was the best idea ever. My parents were cool with it...I was surprised.
