My bicycle has been sitting outside all winter exposed to the elements- i know, i know, i live in an apartment and there's nothing i can do about it. What are some things i should do to make sure it is in good working order?

Wash it thoroughly and lube the chain. Anything not working right, adjust and tighten.

I know how to maintain a bike, but I don't like to do it.
So hang it up with some oversized hooks.

You can get some large hooks with a threaded end, much like a screw, that you can screw into the ceiling. That way, you don't have to worry about the bike, it's out of the way, and you pretty much will not have to do any maintenance!

They cost about two bucks at the hardware. Compare that with the money you need to spend on lube, chain cleaner, and your precious time.

Unless you have the tools and the time, you should probably take it to your local bike shop for a tune up, costs usually between 75 and 100 bucks...

They will lube and check all parts, adjust the brakes & deraileurs, etc.

If you haven't done it before, it is best to get someone to show you. If you can't find a friend try your local bike shops.

Get your bike out of the weather. If you can't get inside at least throw a cover over it. If you look after it ,it will look after you.
