I'm starting a new job and I'm looking to hire someone to babysit my youngest child for 1 or 2 days a week for probably a full day. And I've always been very weary of hiring strangers as most parents are. But now I really need to hire someone. But I just don't know what is the rate these days and I don't want to be taken advantage of when I call prospective sitters. Any help or advice?

Call a couple daycare centers and ask what their daily rates are. Since the person will be coming to your home and only watching your child, I think it is fair to pay them the same amount. If they will be doing 1/2 days, pay them 1/2 the amount.

I live in the rural Michigan.

I pay my licenced day care provider $2. an hour, and I take my 2 1/2 year old child to her home.

2 years ago when I did babysitting in someone else's home for a 4 month old child, I earned $2.50 an hour, I also did do light housekeeping.

Hope this helps

I would say anywhere from 30-40 dollars depending on the age of the child and the how long the sitter would be there.

It depends on where you live. I use to be a nanny and I made $11 an hour. This included cleaning and the care of 4 children. This was in NJ.
I would say 7-11 an hour is good.

It really depends on where you live and how old the child is. Caregivers usually charge more for babies than for older children. My sister in Minnesota pays almost twice what I pay in Montana. I would call around, to in-home caregivers and daycare centers, to find out what the going rate is in your area. Just make sure you both feel comfortable with your sitter. (Cheaper isn't always better!)

We pay $75 a week for a sitter who is certified by the state and babysits 8 children in her home.

As far as finding a sitter, I have had great luck with referrals from my Pediatrician as well as my church. I pay my sitter $5 an hour for my two year old.

there are various extra instructors and childcare workers than there are entertainers. instructors are actual fairly properly paid while in comparison with the common salary in maximum states. people can in basic terms take care of to pay for to pay a undeniable quantity previously it turns into extra fee-effective for one parent to stay domicile and bring up the infants. Its a query of economics. If it expenditures you extra to have somebody to shield your infants than what one important different earns then that important different ought to stay domicile to shield the infants
