I am getting married in August, but here's the deal. I have no close friends, so I have no idea what to do about the maid of honor. Should I ask one of his sisters? He has two so I don't want to offend the other one if I ask one certain sister. Or maybe his 14 year old daughter? He has a best man, but I have no idea on a maid of honor. HELP!!!

I think you should ask the daughter....It will make you look good and that way all 3 of you will be involved in the wedding.....A good way to start you new family

I think you should ask your auntie to be your maid of honor i just believes that is the best thing to do to ask somebody that you will always be close with, or you should ask the daughter if you don't want to ask a close family member because you said the daughter is only 14 years old that will make your wedding look good and that way all 3 of y'all will be involed in the wedding....And that will be a good way to start a new family good luck and congrautlations.

His daughter would be a good choice. But if Mom is going to be a problem, then you can't plan on that. Unless your fiance talks to his ex & tells her he'd like is daughter to be at the wedding.

You could ask both sisters & have them be co-honor attendants. But if you are needing someone to sign as a witness you will still have to choose one for that job.

And no, you don't need a groomsman to balance out the sides.

I'm getting married in May, and instead of having to choose between my girlfriends on who gets the Maid of Honor honors.. I asked my 2 older nieces (ages 16 and 18) to both be my maids of honor. No one can argue or be upset if you didn't pick them if you pick family. My younger nieces are the flower girls.. And I have 3 additional bridesmaids.

Since you have no family members to ask, and his daughter may not come, I would either ask the sister who I'm closest to, or have both. Have your fiance pick one more guy, so it evens it out. If you go to the JP, that would probably solve the problem, I know in California you only need one witness to sign the marriage certificate. Good luck, and Congrats!

Congrats! I was in the same situation, I got married last January...and I actually wound up with 7 bridesmaids! Whatever you do, dont ask somebody that you arent positive of- I asked my aunt to be my maid of honor...i believe personally its always good to ask somebody that you will always be close with, like family. If your still stuck, Id ask both his sisters! Give them the option to choose!

Well who says you have to have one? I have a best man and a groomsman in my wedding, but no maid of honor. I have two bridesmaids.

It is okay to have two made of honors. I did!! I had a maid of honor which was my sister and a matron of honor (who was maried), she was a close family friend.

I think asking his daughter is a nice jesture then she will feel involved in the wedding. You can also ask your mother...it doesnt have to be someone unrelated to you just someone you feel very close to that you feel would be proud to stand with you on your day.
