The two greatest commandments are identical to the two greatest principles, namely, illusion and desire.

Why you (the world) don't follow them is something only you yourself can answer. Don't tell us what the world does or doesn't do; tell what you do or don't do. Speak for yourself, Jack.

I'm not super religious, but I think I live closest to the "Golden Rule". I do this without expecting others to reciprocate the same way. I do this, not because the "Bible tells me so", but because it is simply the right thing to do! If I had the answer to why some people don't live in this same way, I'd run for office and change the world...or not...

To me all Ten Commandments have equal value, start at the top and work your way down, then you will be living closer to the example of Christ.

Thou shalt have no other God before me.
You should follow this because the Bible states that God is a jealous God, most of us think we are God and thats why we dont' follow it.
Honor your mother and Father.
You should follow this because its supposed to lenghten your days, some of us don't have honorable parents, but that's the ones God gave you & once their gone that's it.

The one about not putting other gods before the Jewish god (because it implies that other gods exist LOL)

hmmmmm...

Not murdering (seems logical enough, right?)

People mostly follow the second one I listed and I really don't see a problem with following the first one I listed. After all, what’s the point in worshipping a god in the first place?

Thou shalt love thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul and with all thy mind.

This is the first and greatest commandment, and the second is like unto it.

Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

"Love the Lord thy God, with all your, heart, mind, and soul."
"Love your neighbor as yourself."
Satan is doing all he can to destroy man and we as Christians need to speak up no matter what people think--we are held accountable for the people put in our path, and our words & actions should always glorify Christ.

Love the Lord (Jesus Christ) our God with all our heart and soul.
Love our neighbors as ourselves and do for them what you would have them do for you. (notice do for is different then do to)
Jesus warned that wide is the road that leads to destruction but narrow is the path that leads to eternal life (Heaven) and very few will enter therein.
