I recently discovered freecycle, where people are giving away items they no longer want or need. Its totally free. In the past month, I have gotten a CD player, VCR, DVD player, wheelbarrow, and food smoker. I have given away some firewood, boxes of household items, etc. I live in a tiny, remote town, and we have three active groups. Here is a link where you can put in your zipcode, and find the closest one. Too good not to pass it on. The more people on it, the more stuff there will be to go around

yeah i love freecycle
i haven't gotten anything yet, but I have gotten rid of alot of stuff!!!
i just hate to put stuff in the trash when I know that somebody out there wants/needs it !!!!!

Oh yes, I'm a member of two freecycle groups in my community, and used to be a member of another one in my previous town. I've gotten rid of cooking magazines to teachers for classrooms, grills suitable for campfires, and a host of other little stuff.
In return I've gotten crochet magazines and fresh lemons!
