The Bibles are different because of the books included in them. The Catholic Bible, has what the Protestants call the Apocrypha writings since we accept the Greek Translation of the the books of the Bible, to include later accounts in the Jewish community that lead to the birth of Christ. The Protestant Bible is based on the Lutheran interpretation, not the religion but the person Martin Luther, who revised the Bible to exclude these later books because they weren't in the original Hebrew text and also because according to him they weren't significant sources that would affect our religion. Yet he accepted the Greek version of the New Testament because there was no other version of the these sacred writings.
This was a simple explanation, but you can find much better explanations by asking your priest or pastor.

The OT in the Catholic Bible is the Septuagint, because it was Scripture at the time and place of the founding of the Church. The Protestant Bible is missing some books.

One difference I know is the dating of the book of Daniel. Evangelicals believe it is an actual text from the sixth century BC whereas Catholics believe it was written around the second century BC.
