My wonderful girlfriend decided to give her three year old son a mohawk after a botched haircut. She thought it would look cute and didnt see anything wrong with it. I, personally, think that in todays society, this could be a destraction in school as well as in his daycare. If you can imagine, this has been a big debate, please help!!!

I think it is cute, my nephew has had a mohawk since he was 2 (he is three now) and it looks so cute. If people would actually judge a three year old because of a haircut they need to get a life. It is only hair.

Why not? I have my 2 year old son's hair styled in a rocker/surfer boy type style. The only person who has ever objected is my ex-husband, and only complains because he likes to make trouble. Everyone else thinks it is great. Developmentally, a 3 year old is not at risk of being made fun of by his fellow 3 year old peers. It isn't until he is 5 or so that this type of thing becomes an issue. If he likes it, and his mother likes it, it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. He isn't taking on anything more than a hair style. He'll probably look back at it when he is grown up and say "My hair was in a mohawk?! That is friggin awesome!" As far as being a distraction goes, my son is in a preschool with 12 other kids ranging from 18 months to 36 months, and I promise, they don't care in the least bit what his hair looks like. They care that my son is playing with the most popular toy in the room - it wouldn't matter if he were wearing a dress and had is hair in pig tails.

on a similar time as a mohawk isn't my own fave of a hairdo for toddlers, or absolutely everyone for that actuality, i do no longer think of it encourages insurrection. There are categories of mohawks, some are slightly much less available. in line with hazard you need to start up with a much less glaring kind, yet fortunately hair grows lower back. i think of it relies upon on the youngster that the kind is used on too. some youngsters it appears that evidently cute on, however the different day I observed a boy who had a mohawk and it replaced into in simple terms frightening! He had the perspective that replaced into hectic and he looked at absolutely everyone as though he have been considering a thank you to kill them. i think of he might have nevertheless been frightening with out the mohawk nonetheless. in the top, it fairly is in simple terms a hair cut back, and that's in all hazard between the least risky tips about a thank you to enable him test.

My son is 3 and wants a mohawk. He didn't want one before so we didn't give it to him. Now that he wants one, he is going to get one - even at that age they have a mind of their own and why not? I'm pretty sure the other kids at day care will be just fine. A distraction? My daughter is a distraction at school and it's not because of her hair, it's because she likes to talk alot. I hardly think a mohawk is going to be the end of the world.

No, that is sick!

I have a little girl, but had she been a boy .. MOHAWK it is! A good friend of mine has two little boys and they both rock 'em.

He's three, he will only be three once. Mohawks start to look rebellious when they get older, right now it looks cute. I stay tell the haters to back up! :)

My little guy loves his hair spiky or in a mohawk. And everyone thinks he's cute with his hair like that. 3 year olds don't really care about their classmates hair enough to make it a distraction.

I think it's just the stereotype that we as grown ups associate with people who have mohawks- we think they are dumb degenerates with no education, out there to cause trouble.
Have you ever talked to a grown up with a blue mohawk? Usually they are very intelligent, creative and free thinking? Why wouldn't I want my kid like that?

Im sure there is no problem with it.

I personally do not like the idea of giving a child a mohawk. I would never ruin my son and/or daughters hair like that.

But that's my opinion.. But if she is happy with it then I wouldn't worry about it then.

Why not? A boy in my 3 year old son's preschool class has one (it's not completely shaved on the sides, just super short) and some days I get there and all the boys are gelled up with faux-hawks. It's adorable. I should get a pic of them one day.

I dont see what the big deal is. I think it would be cute but thats just my opinion. Thats just like saying a little girl shouldn't wear pigtails because it would be a destraction.
