The Bible is written in a manner that one would think that God is talking to the reader or one listening. This is amazing and proves that no one other then the Holy Spirit inspired the writers.

Agreed. God does talk to us when we read the Bible. Sometimes it is like the words leap off the page in bold print and speak directly to your soul. The Holy Spirit always deals with my heart when reading the Scripture. That is what it means to be the "breath" of God - God inspired, God breathed, LIVING Word.

Yes He is. But the better question is, Am I listening?

Your logic connecting God speaking through the Bible and Biblical inspiration is faulty. If this were the case God would be limited to only speaking through Scripture. God in fact can get a person's attention through all kinds of things. Once God got my attention and made a point to me clear as day as I watched a child back talk his mama. Certainly not inspired speech.

God is able to speak whenever He wants. The Bible is inspired. But that was not a logical proof.

Thank you for your question. The bible is God's direct communication with humanity through the inspired authors.

Have you considered the reliability of the bible? Ignore for the moment the whole notion of God and just think about the book's content.

Some have claimed that the bible is no more accurate that Homer's Iliad. I respectfully disagree and the table shown at the link below clearly demonstrates my argument that the Bible is one of the most accurate sources for the events described in it.

Investigation will also reveal that there exists NO SINGLE SCIENTIFIC DISCOVERY that has been shown to prove error, factually or doctrinally, in the Bible. There is plenty of speculation and hypotheses, but not a single verifiable fact. To make this claim alone is quite a feat for ancient texts, but when you add to it the fact that the Bible was written over more than 1,500 years by forty vastly different writers, yet every book in the Bible is consistent in its message. These 66 books talk about history, prophecy, poetry, and theology.

No human beings could have planned such an intricate combination of books over a 1,500-year time span. Bible manuscripts (remember, there were no printing presses until 1455) have survived despite weather, persecution and time. Most ancient writings written on weak materials like papyrus have vanished all together. Yet many copies of the Old Testament scriptures survived. For instance, the Dead Sea Scrolls contain all books of the Old Testament, except Esther, and have been dated to before the time of Christ. Consider Julius Caesar’s Gallic Wars. Only ten copies written about 1,000 years after the event are in existence. In comparison, there are over 24,000+ New Testament manuscripts, the earliest one dating to within 24 years after Christ.

The Bible also validates its divine authorship through fulfilled prophecies. An astonishing 668 prophecies have been fulfilled and none have ever been proven false (three are unconfirmed).

An honest study of biblical prophecy will compellingly show the divine authorship of the Bible. Further, archeology confirms (or in some cases supports) accounts in the biblical record. No other holy book comes close to the Bible in the amount of evidence supporting its divine authorship.

Few fail to realize this and show their lack of knowledge in the historicity of the Bible by objecting when folks use the bible to support their own positions. While no one objects when a journal article or some popular book or media piece is quoted, there is often lots of flippant commentary when Christians use the bible as a reference.

When I examine the evidence on both sides, I can only rationally conclude that given the bible's accuracy on so many issues, I have no reason to doubt its validity on all issues it contains, especially when it speaks to God's divine revelations.

The word of God is in the Bible, the Psalms, the Dead Sea scrolls and the Torah.

The problem is humans made changes to it and misinterpretated sections i.e trinity.

The Qur'an is the only holy book that has not been changed and is the final scripture to humankind.

There is no Holy Spirit nor was Prophet Jesus the son of God. The concept of three in one is false.

There is no God but God!

No matter how old you get and no matter how much you study the Bible, you will still get information out of it. Non-christians can't understand what we have that makes us so sure of Christ, so they make fun of us to cover up there real feelings. Sorry I'm avoiding the question. Yes God speaks to you through the Bible. Everyone gets something a little different out of each verse than someone else, cause only you know how to apply it to your life. Praying is talking to God.

There is a difference between divinely dictated and divinely inspired. Do you really think that God went down with his "Holy Hand" and grabbed the hand of some poor schmuck and started writing out all of this mystical crap like the Book of Revelations.....Or maybe he lowered his Zeus like mouth down to the tiny ear of some unsuspecting dweebs and they got stuck writing down Genesis. Really? I mean come on. They are fables. Beautiful, mixed-up myths, that try to help us explain existance. I think that they may be divinely inspired.......but the literal, exact, precise, "Word of God" No Way. And don't even get me started on the Jesus stuff.

I agree, God speaks to me often... because when I study the Word, I am asking for answers to a problem in my life or seeking how to deal with something or how to figure out an answer to any given question... and the Word speaks clearly to me thru the written word. Have you ever noticed that sometimes, the same verse will give you new insight over and over... in totally different aspects to life?

There are some days when I am seeking answers and the Lord is silent--for what seems like forever. I can just drop my Bible open to anywhere and the exact scripture I need to answer me or encourage me is always right in front of me. He has never let me down and has always answered right on time. What an awesome God!!!!!!!!!!!

A very few times. However God seems to be more eloquent in other settings: through songs, mostly through friends, in quiet times. Sometimes I think that God gets bored of so much Bible!
