As i was going to stives i met a man with 7 wifes each wife had 7 sacks each sack had 7 cats each cat had 7 kits, kits cats sacks and wives how many were going to st ives?

Actually there's no indication where the other man, wives, kits, cats, and sacks were going. They could have been heading to St. Ives and the man who was traveling alone could have overtaken them. He did have the benefit of not lugging along a ton of people and animals and would travel faster.
