true love ultimately is a reflection of self love. if you can love someone as you do yourself (being honest with yourself, accepting yourself for who you are, wishing nothing but happiness for yourself, never harming or wishing bad on yourself, etc...) if you have all of the love and admiration for yourself then you can give it to someone else who you feel is deserving and a reflection of who you are.

It's love (any love that exists is "true", therefore it's love).

Love is a very strong positive emotion we feel for things. There are different types of love and different levels of love. We can love our car, our family, and our significant other but each of those feelings of love will be felt in a different way.

"Greater love hath no man than this, that he lays down his life for his friend." If that oppportunity doesn't present itself however, the principle, that you care more about the other person's happiness than your own, is what's important. That's true love.
