how did they know that lazarus was dead? how come he couldnt have been unconcious? (if they knew about pulses, how come they didnt do that to Jesus? remember they stabbed him in his side to prove he was dead, his blood seperated from water as it poured out)

how do you know this wasnt simply a "mis-diagnosis"? doctors even today make many errors. so why couldnt simple peasants make errors thousands of years ago?

When the Jews of that day buried their dead, they would lay out the corpse and wrap it like a mummy .Every strip of cloth would be saturated in Myrrh and Aloes to keep the stink down.If you were alive, you would soon be suffocated. After the corpse rotted away, they would go in and put the bones in a stone box called an "osuary",clean up all the debris, stack the box and make room on the stone slab for the next body. That's why Jesus said "Unwrap him ,let him go".That is also why Peter and John were so surprised when they entered Jesus' tomb and found the wrappings lying in one spot(another reason the shroud of Turin is not real) and the head wrap all by it self.Probably still shaped like a body.Remember Nicodemus brought 100 lbs of aloes to soak the bandages with.
It was not allegorical because the Jewish leaders were planning to kill that "allegory" (Lazurus)later on in John.

Because Lazarus was sealed in a cave for 4 days and he stank from decomposition that happens rapidly in a hot dry arid zone that the lived in.
Also Jesus said that he was dead.
John 11: 14 Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead.
The Jesus when He came FOUND that he had been in the grave 4 days. John 11:17 Then when Jesus came, he found that he had lain in the grave four days already.
Then Jesus used this as an example of His power and to proove His Diety by saying in John11: 25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

No, Lazarus was not dead. Jesus did not bring anyone back from the dead. It was easy to believe then, but now we know better, or we should.

Also Jesus himself did not come back from the dead. He was substitued for a comdemned man, during the procession up to calvary. It was a deal worked out by the high priest, the Ad Hoc Committe, two representatives of the Roman authorities, and Jesus. In the deal Jesus has agreed that he would never appear in public again, and that he would be under house arrest at his uncle's house, until he left the country.

1. Embalmed by the family
2. Wrapped in linen cloth
3. In the grave without a peep
4. No one there doubted it
5. If there was proof of a scam they would have revealed it.

Kind of stupid to make up a different story almost two thousand years later when those present wrote what the saw and KNEW.

ok long story short he died and they wrapped him in a shroud and he laid in a airless grave for for days. when they opened the grave the smell that only the dead can have engulfed them. and for your supposition that people that don't shower smell, while that is true but the smell of a dead man and the smell of a dirty person are completely different. Jesus told him to come forth and he was raised from the dead! so yes he really raised Lazarus from the dead.
