My younger cousin's formal sweet 16 party is tonight. i got my hair touched-up last sunday, so right now it is straight. my hair is shoulder length, but i don't want to wear it out like i always do (i'm self-concious about my neck normally, but i really dont care tonight since its just family and im not concerened with impressing 16 year olds). i need a simply style that I can do on my own, that doesn't require too much time and hair gel. i was thinking either a low ponytail of some sort. Or an updated 50s-style updo that i've been seeing in hollywood. suggestions?

I think the hair lifted up in a ball is what most ladies are doing for formals. It is quick and easy, also they have a variety of accessions you could add to this look. Try the ball with the long side burns of hair, this is especially pretty on younger ladies. If you need to , you can also add a piece to your ball. The ball can be worn up high or lower as you see fit.
