Before I've run, lately, I've been drinking a Red Bull just to give me a little bit of an energy boost during my run. Is this bad for me or my running?

not good man, energy drinks mess with your heart rate, and it goes up when u run anyway, i would stop. You may be asking for some serious heart trouble. I used to drink them before football games and one day in warm ups i had to stop drills because my chest hurt and i was short of breath, i was fine eventually but doctor said my heart was beating much too fast, and it was working too hard

It depends how you define, "a little bit". I drink a small cup of coffee before some races and I don't see any problems with it. And coffee has around 100 mg of caffeine per 8 oz, where red bull has 80mg per 8oz. Make sure you're drinking plenty of water before and after your run (and during if the run is over 45 minutes or in extreme heat). The problem with caffeinated drinks in dehydration...so as long as you're drinking just a "little bit"...and a lot of bit of water, you should be OK.

Depending on how far you are running, it may not be a bad thing.

IF you are doing marathon training and you are going out for a run that will last 2 hours or more, the caffiene can hold off glycogen depletion by making your body release some fatty acids into your bloodstream and they will be burned up before your body starts to use its glycogen stores

If your are not running 2 hours or more (and most people don't) - drink water and eat right.

Get your energy boost from a fruit drink or powerade/gatorade. The Red Bull has too much caffeine. You just need the simple carbs, not the stimulant.

Very bad.
Red Bull give you "energy" with a big shot of caffeine.
I recommend eating a carbo gel instead.
