Chimpanzees have been seen using spears to hunt bush babies, U.S. researchers said on Thursday in a study that demonstrates a whole new level of tool use and planning by our closest living relatives.

merlin, you cannot be serious. We both have a common ancestor we did not come from chimps but from other primates that no longer exist

I trust that when you say, "our closest living relatives", you are not including me in that category. I came from humans, not monkies.
Riddle me this batman.... If humans evolved from chimps, why are there still chimps? Why is their DNA different from ours?

Are you serious? How in the world does this have anything at all to do with the theory of evolution? The only way it applies at all is if one has a really good imagination...
By the way, I saw a video a few weeks ago of a cat that repeatedly flushed the owner's toilets. Now that I can relate to! ...maybe we should be looking for a new "gap" between us and cats?

I think it is surprising, but not terribly so. We already knew that the merest shred (1-1.5%) of our DNA separates us from Chimps. We have seen them conduct warfare and hunt down and murder errant individuals. We have seen them use (simpler) tools in the past. We have seen them use American Sign Language.
Only someone with a Flintstones worldview could look at all that and dismiss human evolution out of hand.

I still don't understand why people will believe anything. God made man and breathed life into him... this is what the Bible teaches and this is what I believe. Maybe your ancestors or somebody elses came from a chimpanzee but mine didn't.
Think with a little bit of common sense. If people evolved from chimps then why don't they still evolve from them?

Actually, it reinforces evolution. Survival of the fittest. These creatures are evolving to the point of fashioning crude tools.

Remember though - every time we fill a gap, Christians point out the two other gaps we've just created!

Now, if they could just figure out how to shave (lol).
I think that these chimps just saw people doing it and mocked them.
I did not click on the link; just going by the info you gave.
