The vast majority of antibiotics are bacteria fighters; although there are millions of viruses, we only have antibiotics for half-a-dozen or so of them. Bacteria, on the other hand, are more complex (while viruses must "live" in a "host" (us), bacteria can live independently) and so are easier to kill.

Because antibiotics kill bacteria. They don't kill viruses. Actually, there is no known medicine that actually kills viruses. All medicine either treats the symptoms or help the body face the virus. I hope I've helped.

Antibiotics are chemical simulants of compounds manufactured by bacteria that bacteria use to reproduce. These compounds inhibit the ability of bacteria to replicate. However, since viruses don't make any of these compounds (Viruses only make compounds necessary to replicate themselves, hijacking the cells they infect for any nutrients, energy, etc.), antibiotics cannot inhibit viral infection.

antibiotics are from funguses like mushrooms that have developed a mechanism to break down the effect bacteria have on them by killing these bacteria. antibiotics aim at deteriorating bacteria, nto virusses, thats why they dont work on viruses. viruses have no cure, im pretty sure on that

Different antibiotics work in different ways, but in general they disrupt cellular metabolism in some way. Viruses are just a bit of DNA or RNA perhaps with a protein coating. No cell, no cellular metabolism, no way to disrupt it.

antibiotics do not affect viruses. they are intended to treat bacterial infections only. to combat a viral infection, you would need an antiviral medication or vaccine. vaccine's are made from using the actual virus(either weakened significantly or nonactive) to help your immune system recognize virus and fight off the virus.

Antibiotics treat conditions caused by Bacteria.
AntiVirals treat conditions caused by Viruses
Antifungals treat conditions caused by Fungus.
Antiparasitics treat conditions caused by parasites.
You get the idea.

viruses require a living host to reproduce and survive.
anything that is toxic to a virus is usually toxic to the host as well.. that means that anti viruses are difficult to produce because they kill off your cells as well as the virus.

because anti biotics are used to help boast your infection fighting ability by boosting up white blood cells....viruses are viral and don't react to active white cells...
